From small to large projects, EcoLOGIC has experience in gopher tortoise relocation, permitting, and surveying. We strive to reach environmental solutions that work for your particular project while complying with the FWC Gopher Tortoise Permitting Guidelines. Our staff have been FWC Authorized Gopher Tortoise Agents for over a combined 25+ years.
Have you recently purchased a property? Or are preparing to build in a FEMA 100 Year Flood Zone or water front property? Commonly, wetland delineations are required by county building departments to formally establish the wetland boundaries on a property for setback requirements. Verifying wetland boundaries is also strongly recommended in advance of purchasing properties near water bodies. in order to make an informed decision for potential permitting issues which may result from the presence of wetlands on-site. Our wetland scientist has been conducting wetland delineations for 15+ years on the Nature Coast in accordance with FDEP Chapter 62-340 FAC, the Statewide Environmental Resource Permit (SWERP) process, and the USACE Wetland Delineation Manual.
Are you anticipating you may impact wetlands with your construction project? Most wetlands are protected by the state and / or federal government, and impacting wetlands without required permitting authorizations can result in significant fines and other penalties. Let our staff with experience working with county governments, FDEP, water management districts, and USACE assist you through the process of applying for an Environmental Resource Permit (ERP). Our services include UMAM mitigation assessments and wetland mitigation design.
Listed species assessments are commonly completed ahead of commercial or multi-unit residential (subdivision) development. They determine the potential for the proposed development to impact listed species and outline potential incidental take permitting or avoidance measures which may be required as a result. These studies may be required at the county and state level, with specific requirements varying based on size of proposed development and county location. The location and natural habitat cover of your property will determine which species have the potential to be present / impacted, but our scientists have extensive experience in conducting listed species surveys and in permitting / consultation requirements.
We can also assist in your project through the application of GIS analysis. We can design a gopher tortoise relocation plan that works for your project or provide you with a buildable area after we complete a wetland delineation. Our staff is trained in GIS and remote sensing, and their application to environmental assessments and site planning. Contact us with your project for more information.
Are you planning a dock, boat lift, or other over water structure? Depending on the size and location of proposed structures, the state / federal government may require a Resource Protection Area (RPA) assessment or other survey to determine potential impacts to submerged aquatic vegetation, spring vents, or other valued aquatic resources afforded protection under state or federal law. We provide submerged aquatic vegetation / resources surveys and subsequent planning / permitting assistance to either avoid or minimize impacts to these resources in order to obtain required state and federal permitting authorization for construction.
Moderate to large water use withdrawals have the potential to impact wetlands, springs and other natural resources in the drawdown impact radius. Water management districts may require annual monitoring of these resources via vegetation studies and statistical analysis of water system inputs and withdrawals. Our staff has over a decade of wellfield monitoring experience for entities such as the SWFWMD and Citrus County. Contact us for more info.
Environmental monitoring is required for certain construction projects to ensure environmental resources are protected from construction impacts. This may include monitoring for potential water quality impacts (turbidity, chemical concentrations, etc.) or protections for listed wildlife (i.e. Eagle / listed wading bird nest monitoring). We provide a variety environmental monitoring services when required for your project.
Silt fencing of construction limits is frequently required by County Code or to meet NPDES pollution control standards. On-site gopher tortoise relocations also require silt fencing to exclude relocated tortoises from active work areas. No matter your circumstances, we provide silt fence planning and installation options for your project.
